Team Expectation Rules

Practices

  1. On Time- pre-start activities-stretching for 3-4 minutes before practice starts. Two laps before you stretch
  2. Excused Absences-CCD, finals, homework/tests, special projects, sickness. Other sports are not an approved Excused absence. Coaches will determine communication method prior to practice.
  3. Unexcused Absences- progression: warning (email to parent), next-don’t start, next-don’t play for a half of the half, next-don’t play for a half, next- sit for a game. Respect your team and coaches.
  4. Conditioning (individual player assessment)- you need stamina to compete and win games. Jump rope to improve your vertical leap. Work on this outside of practice!!
  5. Knowing your responsibilities on offense, defense, inbounds, etc.- Playbooks should be studied!!! We’ll keep it fun but…It will effect your playing time if you don’t know your assignments.

Player Conduct

  1. During Practice    -swearing during practice will not be tolerated.

                         -intensity of effort- lazy attitudes and efforts will not be tolerated

                                     -physical abuse of another teammate will not be tolerated   

  1. During Games-
    1. With Coaches-respect your coaches as your leaders and teachers
    2. With Referees- players don’t talk to the refs, ejections or technical fouls hurt the team
    3. With Teammates-support each other on and off the court
    4. With Fans- unacceptable-don’t pay attention to those comments
    5. On the Bench-exiting game- give a five. Everyone in huddle on timeout. Pay attention to what we’re running at all times when you’re not in. Man-to man defense- tell your sub who they have!!!
    6. Arriving at tournaments-30 minutes prior to scheduled start, waiting for game to begin- hang with your team as a group. In between- don’t eat anything heavy 1 hr before the next game.
    7. After the game is over- designated spot to huddle. Clean up the bench. Leave as a team.                                           

Parents

  1. 30 Minute Rule with Coaches- discussing player concerns should be done outside of these times before and after games.
  2. Referee Comments- let the coaches handle the referees.
  3. Player issues/concerns
    1. Level one –coach
    2. Level two- club

Disregard of these club rules will result in disciplinary action. Players receiving 3 technical fouls in a season will be removed from the team- no refunds. Parents/family members being ejected or causing THE SPARKS to receive bench technicals 3 times (cumulative) will disqualify their daughter and she will be removed from the team- no refunds.
